Join us on top of the world at Mt Buller for the hottest women’s challenge going around in the mountain bike space.
There are three options for the cross country minded ladies. Please note that trails at Mount Buller are steeper and more technical than trails used at the previous Dirt Maidens event, therefore riding speeds can be halved to give an indication of distance/time. E.g. 7km at Buller is like riding 14km at Bungarra.
Short course = approx 7km. This course utilises only the green (beginner) trails on Mount Buller, and keeps close to the event village.
Standard course = approx 12.5km. This course uses green and blue trails, with some challenging technical terrain and a great cardio challenge.
Long course = approx 20km. For those iron maidens out there who really like to push themselves hard. This course does two laps of the standard course, with an extra 4km of challenging blue terrain.
(Trails used include: Soul Revival, One Tree Hill, Gang Gangs, Picnic Trail, Cornhill Trail, Medusa, Clancy’s Run, Wombat Trail, Splitrock climb, Family trail)
The course is a 2km section of gravity fed trail (Copperhead flow trail) where riders will be timed from top to bottom.
Riders must complete a practice run of the course prior to the race OR must be familiar with the course, having ridden it before race day.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS EVENT REQUIRES ALL COMPETITORS TO WEAR A FULL FACE HELMET, TO COMPLY WITH MTBA’s LATEST PROTOCOL ON GRAVITY EVENTS.

Mt Buller is just 248kms north-east of Melbourne via Mansfield. In three hours you can be out of the city and high in the mountains! There are a few different routes you can take from Melbourne:
Plenty Rd via Whittlesea and Yea
Via the Hume Hwy to Tallarook and Yea
Via the Maroondah Hwy to Yarra Glen and Yea
Travelling from the north, follow the Hume Hwy south and take the Mansfield exit onto the Midland Hwy (B300). To get here via the most direct route using Google Maps and GPS, it is best to set your destination to Yea, then once you are in Yea set it for Mansfield, then Mt Buller from Mansfield.
