47km MTB plus Multi Sport Events
The Motatapu Speight’s Summit Mountain Bike is for everyone. It can be as challenging or as easy as you want it to be (depending on your definition of easy!) Set in the spectacular Southern high country valleys of New Zealand, there are many rivers to cross, hills to climb and a few steep descents thrown into the mix.
The race starts at Glendhu Bay on the shore of Lake Wanaka, near the Wanaka township, and finishes 47km later at the historic Arrowtown.
This event takes you on an iconic off-road course through the magnificent Motatapu, Soho and Glencoe Stations, which thanks to the owners, are opened once a year to the public for this event.
Top riders such as Anton Cooper, Marcus Roy, Kashi Leuchs, Sara MacDonald, Robyn Wong, adventure racers like Emily Miazga and Steve Gurney, and celebs such as Bill English and Hamish Carter have all previously taken part in the Motatapu mountain bike race. However it is the first-timers, the recreational riders, and the competitors that just get up off the couch to come and take part that make up the main field of .
