North Coast NSW’s iconic 100km enduro, Pleasure and Pain, is back on 9 September with some exciting new developments.
The sweet flowing single track of the Cows with Guns track has been extended to give riders more of the fast enjoyable riding that makes this race a riders’ favourite. The Pine Creek section with its rainforest gullies and creek crossings provides the other half of the track, to give riders lots of variety on this 25km circuit.
The 25km circuit allows riders plenty of room to ride without congestion on the track. This year’s race options include 25km, 50km, and 100km solo categories for men and women in open, masters and supermasters.
New for this year is a 100km team of four option where each rider does one lap of the 25km track. The teams race was a popular suggestion after last years’ race and organisers, Refusenix Racing, expect some fast riding from the teams category. A four-person women’s team category is also available as an option for women who love to race but don’t have the time to train for longer events.
“We’d love to see more women racing, and hope that the women’s team option will encourage more women to sign up for Pleasure and Pain,” says race organiser, Sue Webber. “In fact, we’re setting up a women’s timers team where the women who help with the race timing will also get to race.”
Early bird entries are open on the mtba register now site. Prices until 31 July are $90 for 100km solo, $70 for 50km solo, $40 for 25km solo, and $160 for a team of four.
