Even before Cairns hosted the 1996 MTB World Championships, The iconic Triple RRR (Rural, Rainforest & Reef) cross country event was in its 5th year. The Triple R mountain bike race is the longest running ‘point to point’ race in Australia. First run in 1991 the race has run consecutively for 26 years.
The race has been run as club events, Queensland Cross Country Championships and a round of the Australian National Series. Previous winners include Scott Stewart (AUS National Champion), Michael Ronning (AUS Downhill Champion) and 5 times winner Dave Wood.

The pre-race or post-race shuttle bus can be booked when entering the event. For $20, yourself and your bike will be transported to Mt Molloy.
