The Cranky Penguin Mountain Bike Marathon
The 2nd Edition of the Cranky Penguin 70 km Mountainbike Marathon will take place in Penguin Tasmania on February 1, 2015. For those not wanting to compete in the full race a shorter event The ‘Not So Cranky Penguin’ will give you 40km of riding. The Cranky covers 70 km of very undulating terrain in the Dial Range. With over 2,000 metres of climbing this event has it all, with steep technical descents, long climbs and a beautiful riverside trail.

Penguin is in Northwest Tasmania, situated on the edge of Bass Strait. A small town of 5000 residents.
The Spirit Of Tasmania passenger ferry docks in Devonport, which is a 25 minute drive from Penguin.
There are two small airports close by – Burnie and Devonport. Both are only a 30 minute drive from Penguin and both airports have direct flights to and from Melbourne. Check with airlines regarding capacity.
Launceston airport is one and a half hours drive from Penguin and provides access for larger jets with direct flights between Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
