The Bungarra trails are a purpose built mountain bike area, set on a 300 acre property 5 min drive south of Jindabyne. The trails were built for use during school education programs run by Bungarra, but are open to public use during weekends and school holidays. The Bungarra trails offer a good deal of variety and are quite different to the other trail areas near Jindabyne. It’s a great place to bring the family for a easy cruise or ride hard with mates as the trails offer a lot of progression.
Included in the 20+ km trail network is a variety of single track trails, a pump track, skills area, flow line and jumps line. The majority of the trails are fast flowing and smooth, hand cut single track, but there are a number of more difficult and rocky trails for the more experienced rider. Including new trails up and down Round Hill. There is over 200 metres of vertical height difference from the highest to lowest points on the property.
Maps and trail information are available from www.rollingground.com.au. Accommodation can be booked at Bungarra by contacting them direct at www.bungarra.com.au . The trail entry fee covers riders for a weekend, from Friday afternoon to Monday morning. The fee assists in the cost of maintaining and improving the trail network. Jindabyne Cycling Club holds rides mid week and information about ride times is available from their website www.jindabynectmc.com.au
If you are not staying at Bungarra or a member of the Jindabyne Cycling Club, you will need to obtain a Trail Pass. For a cost of $5pp, the Trail Pass will give you access to the trails from 12pm Friday to 12pm Monday.
Trails are closed during the week, after dark, and on occasional weekends when events are being held at Bungarra. To ride at other times, please contact the office on (02) 6457 2788 or (02) 6456 2688.
