A large trail network in Melbourne’s North East offers well sculpted and maintained trails for approximately 30kms in one loop. Difficult to navigate so scout it out on maps or BYO local.
Starting at the Smiths Gully General store (with toilets and bike supplies) the trail descends through fresh forest to the base of Broad Acres Road. After climbing the road and cranking it to the top of Rob Roy road a further descent awaits. Bring plenty of water and watch for snakes, if you go on the right day you can intercept and buy a sausage from the Rob Roy Hill Climb race.
