We've recently taken delivery of a very tasty Specialized Demo 8 frameset here at Flow, which will become the sled for reviewing all our downhill product. While we thinking about downhill, we lined up some Specialized rubber for the bike too. Specialized Butcher DH tyres-4 There's no hiding the Butcher's inspiration - this tyre has plenty in common with the Maxxis Minion when it comes to tread pattern. But this tyre can stand on its own two legs (or knobs, or whatever…) too; it's been raced and has won at the highest levels of downhill for a few years now. The compound is a gummy 42a durometer and the sidewalls feel ready for a beating. These are the 2.3" size, but there's a 2.5" as well which carries only a tiny weight penalty.
