The not-so-minor details
Rockshox Pike RCT3
Monza Bicycle Imports
- Weight: 1,840gm
- Travel: 150mm
- Wheel size: 26"
Arguably the most desirable all-mountain fork of the new season is finally here in Australia. We’ll be fitting the Rockshox Pike to our Yeti SB66 and getting right into it, racing the Flow Roller Coaster at Mt Stromlo this weekend with the new fork.
We’ve had the chance to ride the Pike already on a few test bikes at various press launches (on the Lapierre Spicy and Specialized Stumpjumper Evo) and we came away flabbergasted by its awesomeness. The Charge damper system (which uses a bladder, not dissimilar to the FOX FIT system) relishes hard riding, as does the robust chassis with 35mm legs. Hold tight for our initial impressions soon.
DON’T CALL IT A COMEBACK
A comeback has never been so amazing. After taking a few years off, PIKE comes back in the RockShox lineup, as the ultimate trail fork. Your trail could be a silky smooth ribbon of singletrack, or a rock-infested goat trail in the Alps. Either way, there is a PIKE for you. All wheel sizes, with 26”, 27.5” and 29” options, and 160mm and 150mm travel models, plus a 140mm version for the 29” platform. The RCT3 damper is available in either Dual Position Air or a Solo Air version to complete the offering.
