Wyatt Ave Bike Park

Destination overview

The terrain around Sydney is not exactly suited to beginner mountain bikers. It’s steep, slabby and technical, and any flat bits have houses built on them. However, the new Wyatt Ave Bike Park is designed specifically to solve this problem.

Nestled on the Northern Beaches right next to John Colet Primary School, and not far from Golden Jubilee and Bare Creek Bike Park, Wyatt Ave is a collaborative project between the Council and Trailcare.

A mountain bike coaches dream

If you could take the PMBIA workbook and make it into a real-life bike park, you’d get Wyatt Ave. Every feature is designed to teach a specific skill, and it’s all laid out to safely foster progression.

While it’s been designed to suit primary school-aged kids, you don’t have to be under 10 to enjoy it. Beginner mountain bikers from around Sydney can come here to master the basics of controlling their bike over little drops, jumps, skinnies, rock rolls and more.

Built on a 40x60m parcel of land, it’s not a sprawling bike park, and it’s easy to keep an eye on your little ones. There is a defined start and end point, and it is just long enough to get mini-shredders excited to race back to the top, but not so long that they’ll get totally knackered by the time they get back up there.

There are places to sit down and take a rest out of the way, and it’s dog friendly, provided they are on a leash. Take the whole family and spend an afternoon at the bike park.
