New SRAM Maven Ultimate Expert Kit
No, you’re not seeing things – that’s not a new brake from SRAM, it’s just a new colour, we’ve dubbed it ‘Splattermint Wasabi Razzle’. Spotted on a few pro bikes first during Red Bull Hardline, Tasmania, the latest finish is part of the Maven Ultimate Expert Kit, previously bright red, bringing a bit of trendy coolant-coloured bling and a heap of convenience.
The callipers feature a split finish; Teal Splatter anodising on one side, black on the other – paired with black lever bodies, titanium hardware and mounting bolts for a fresh look straight out of the box.

The Expert Kit bundles everything you need to fully convert your bike to SRAM’s new mineral oil powerhouse stoppers. Inside the box, you’ll find front and rear brakes, 220/200mm rotors, both metallic and organic pads, adaptors, a full bleed kit, and a few workshop extras to sweeten the deal. If you’re looking to ditch DOT fluid brakes – whether you’re on SRAM Codes or something else – this kit makes the switch to SRAM’s mineral oil system super straightforward.

SRAM Maven Ultimate Expert Kit – $1030 AUD
We’ve been running the Glactic Guacamole Maven Ultimate brakes on our Ibis HD6 test bike with 200mm rotors and metallic pads. After three days blasting the steep and chunky trails at Mystic Bike Park, Bright, they’ve held strong — loads of power, good modulation, and no change in opinion since our original long-term review here.

There are a couple of low-key updates worth pointing out, too. The included Pro Bleed Kit uses aluminium threaded fittings in place of plastic banjo connectors in the regular kit – a small but smart change that helps create a cleaner, more air-tight bleed when you’re yanking hard on the syringe during a vacuum bleed. And SRAM has also included a clever new piston massage tool, replacing our trusty double-rotor zip-tie tool with something purpose-built and hands-free. It clips into the pad retaining bolt hole, leaving you free to focus on the lever while you coax the pistons back and forth to dial them in nicely.
If you’re chasing big power, top-tier finish, and a no-fuss install, the Maven Expert Kit is a very tidy solution and cheaper than buying the parts individually.
