The Swedish outfitter POC shipped out some summer riding kit which we’ve been riding all season long. Our experience with the brand’s clothing and helmets has been extremely positive in the past, and its helmets are a favourite within FlowHQ.

POC Reform Enduro Tee
The appeal of POC gear has always been clean, simple designs, and the Reform Enduro Tee embodies just that. No fancy patterns or leopard print are seen here; just a single POC logo on a stretchy medium-weight fabric was clearly the design brief, and they nailed it. The recycled polyester breathes well and wicks away sweat, and we found it to be plenty comfortable during long hot rides in summer. The card pocket is a nice addition – I can’t say I used it all that often, but for folks who want it, it’s there.

POC Essential Enduro Shorts
The Essential Enduro shorts sit as the brand’s no-fuss pair of trail shorts that are stacked with all of our favourite features we expect. Securing the shorts is taken care of by a single zipper and button closure, and there are two velcro straps to adjust the fit along with an elastic waistband. We did experience a bit of a failure with the single button closure at the front, with half of the mechanism disappearing in the wash. An $8 button kit from the local fabric shop had this sorted and we were happily back out on the trails.
They feature two zipper pockets that sit high on each of the legs, which are generous enough to fit the tablet-sized phones of 2025. We’d describe the fabric as medium-weight, with a two-way stretch along the length of the shorts. The fit is fairly standard and provides plenty of room to wiggle about, and is cut longer at the front knee to cover knee pads.

POC Guardian Air Shorts
The lightweight Guardian Air shorts have been the go-to pair of riding shorts this summer, with the overall fit and feel making them a true standout. The fabric has a very lightweight feel to it and has a great amount of stretchiness when swinging down the trail. The dropped knee design works well with or without knee pads, and we really liked the higher cut behind the knee to prevent any bunching. Fit was very much normal, with the size medium fitting perfectly to my 32in waistline. The elastic waistband takes care of the adjustment, so there’s no need to mess with any straps.
The only small gripe is the location of the pockets, which sit slightly lower down on the thigh compared to the Essential Enduro’s. Because of this, heavy objects such as keys tend to wiggle around when things are getting rowdy which we found can be a little annoying. This can be up to personal preference however, and the Guardian Air’s would be a 10/10 if this was sorted out.
