The SDG Bel-Air V3 saddle is an updated version of the original Bel-Air saddle that has evolved over many years; the latest version retains its proven comfort profile but has improved features. We’ve just received the saddle with subtle black/tan and alloy rails.
One notable improvement in the saddle’s construction is that the V3 saddle has been slimmed down and shortened in overall length to match current bike geometries, giving it a sleeker appearance without compromising support. It also features what SDG call ‘free float comfort flex rail inserts’, which provide more forgiveness at the wings.
If you’re wondering why it looks quite sleek, the Bel-Air V3 is finished with ATMOS shaping, which eliminates the need for bumpers, staples, or glue, leaving a seamless vacuum-sealed cover.
Things have come a long way since Mick’s first SDG saddle from the mid-90s! Yikes!
Whilst riding, the saddle feels comfortable and unobtrusive. Its scooped shape allows the rider to sit inside the saddle rather than sliding around on top, which can provide a more secure and stable position for the pelvis. Additionally, the saddle’s centre groove helps reduce pressure on the perineal area, making it a great option for riders who experience discomfort or numbness during long rides. And a hidden cut-out relief underneath to relieve the pressure of your soft bits. All good things! Good price, too.
