Cooper signs with Cannondale

Rising Kiwi XC star Anton Cooper has signed with Cannondale Factory Racing for the 2013 and 2014 World Cup and World Championship seasons.

The two-year deal will see 18-year-old Anton, of Christchurch, New Zealand, join the team’s elite riders Italian and 2012 Olympic bronze medalist Marco Aurelio Fontana, elite German racer Manuel Fumic and American Under 23 rider Keegan Swenson.

“With the signing of Anton, and Keegan’s increased focus on the XC World Cup circuit, we are setting the direction for the future of the team while maintaining the approachable personalities and inspiring passion for XC that the team has been know for,” said Bob Burbank, Global General Manager, Cannondale.

Anton intends to race the F29 hardtail in his debut season in the Under 23 class.
