Series Coordinator, Murray Wood, said there is great excitement throughout the seven Evocities about the series return following the outstanding success of 2015 and the excitement of the first race in Bathurst in April 2016.
“The seven race series will attract close to 5,000 participants and visitors to cities with a combined service population of over one million people in regional NSW,” Mr Wood said.
“The cash prize money available for the series has already put the series on the minds of some of Australia’s elite MTB riders,” he said.
Albury is the host for the second of the seven race series which will see events held in Tamworth; Wagga Wagga; Dubbo; Armidale; and Orange.
“The popularity of MTB is growing rapidly in Australia and the trails included in the Evocities MTB Series are some of the best in NSW,” Mr Wood said.
“This year each event will also run a dedicated juniors race to encourage greater participation from families and have more people visiting the host cities,” he said.
The generous prize money is on offer with the support of Evocities MTB Series sponsors including Fairfax Media; QantasLink; Forestry Corporation; NSW Mining; Charles Sturt University; Macquarie and Orange Anglican Grammar Schools; Spinifex Recruiting; Maas Group Properties; and Prime 7.
