First Look | Norco launches the 2025 Search with updated gravel geometry

Norco has updated its gravel adventure companion for 2025, the Search, claiming it’s the most stable yet confident in rough terrain model to date. There are sweeping geometry changes across the board, alongside all-new carbon fibre or aluminium frame options that are stacked with accessory mounts and storage options.

We are big fans of the clean new Norco logo on the headtube, and that fender looks neat! Plus the cables don’t run through the headset!

An overview of the 2025 Norco Search

Norco will once again be offering the Search gravel bike in carbon. Previous versions of this drop bar adventure bike have been available in plastic-fantastic frames (we tested one back in 2018, check out those chainstays!) however, the Canadian outfit has pivoted to aluminium and steel in more recent generations.

Thanks to the new carbon fibre construction, Norco has now been able to incorporate a downtube storage hatch below the bottle cage. Inside the downtube, you’ll find two waterproof bags to store snacks, spares or anything you can manage to squeeze through the opening.

The aluminium variant of the Search doesn’t receive the same downtube storage, but does sport ‘adventure’ mounts on the fork. This allows direct mounting of bags, to carry everything you need for the daily commute or bike-packing adventure.

Stock models will come fitted with 45mm tyres, however the frames have clearance for up to 700x50mm tyres for those chasing a little extra comfort on rougher terrain. All models will come with a custom front fender, and both frames include integrated mounts for full-sized rear fenders.

Other frame features include an easily replaceable UDH hanger, making the frame compatible with SRAM’s ‘Full-Mount’ drivetrain systems. Both aluminium and carbon frames also see fully guided internal cable routing along with a threaded BSA bottom bracket.

Norco Search Geometry & Sizing

Geometry has been updated for 2025 to provide a more stable and confident ride while maintaining agility and responsiveness. The 2025 Search in a Size 4, which is equivalent to the previous model’s 58cm size, features a 12mm taller stack height, a headtube angle that’s 1° slacker, and an increased reach of 40mm. All models and sizes come with a 70mm stem, and the rear centre lengths and effective seat tube angles scale with the frame size. Aluminium and carbon models of the Search share identical geometry, aside from a 10mm lower standover height on the aluminium models.

The carbon fibre fork that is paired with both the carbon and aluminium frames is based around the dimensions of a gravel suspension fork. This means forks such as the RockShox Rudy or Fox 32 TC are compatible straight away, however, no models of the Search will come fitted with suspension from the factory.

Norco Search Price & Specs

Three models of the Search will be available in Australia, one with the fancy carbon fibre frame, and two with an aluminium frame. All three models share the same wheels, being a pair of aluminium 700c hoops from WTB, with Shimano sealed bearing hubs and come stock wrapped in 45mm tyres. Pricing starts at $2,499 AUD for the aluminium frame and a Shimano CUES build, and jumps to $4,499 AUD for the most premium build available in Australia, which will see the carbon frame and a Shimano GRX 610 1×12 drivetrain.

Unfortunately, at the time of launch, Norco doesn’t have finalized photos or detailed spec lists of the three models available in Australia, however did provide silhouette renders of each of the models.
