Kyle Strait, one of our all-time heroes, has recently joined the DHaRCO family (some of our all-time favourite people). Kyle spent a week in Sydney recently, ripping trails, visiting beaches, drinking beers and enjoying the lifestyle that DHaRCO is all about.
WARNING: This edit is more than 3 minutes long – insert shock horror emoji. It contains beaches,Aussie sunshine, talking about the season and riding. If you can hold on to your seat for long enough, we think you’re going to like it.
In the edit Kyle talks about his plans for the season and recaps his week in Sydney with the DHaRCO crew. First stop Manly and the local Northern Beaches trails. Ferns and rocks and expansive landscapes showcased as the key features of the local Sydney ride scene.
Kyle Strait kicks off the season at the pointy end. Second in Dual Slalom at Crankworx in Rotorua, and oh so close in Speed and Style and Pumptrack with 4th in both. He’s showing the world that he’s in top form and pumped for the season.
Greenvalleys MTB Park
The crew heads down to the legendary Greenvalleys MTB Park just South of Sydney. If you haven’t been put it on your bucket list. Progression is key at Greenvalleys, with so many lines and features to build confidence and work up to the bigger features. Everyone always goes home with a massive smile on their faces from GV.
Ex-DH racer and now coach of the Aussie Juniors, Jared Rando, surprised Kyle with a visit to say hi at Greenvalleys. When Jared was racing World Cups he used to live on the same street as Kyle in California and they became close buddies yet rivals on the track.
In the edit Kyle talks about creating trails in his backyard, which he named Strait Acres and how that’s helped him for this season. Until now it’s been all about digging, but leading into this season there’s lots of tracks dialled so he’s been spending more time riding – and it’s showing in his results so far.
So sit back and enjoy the ride.
