Official press release from Blue Dirt Mountain Biking

Australia’s must-do multi-day gravity enduro race has been created by the crew at Blue Dirt Mountain Biking. Loaded with a tonne of social elements, Bike Warrior is a lifetime experience for mountain bikers.

Warriors will ride seven days across Victoria’s best trails in the revered High Country. “Descents are timed, nothing else matters,” says Aaron from Blue Dirt. And he is quick to point out “The riding will take in a mix of trails from out there raw backcountry to bike park flow. Yes, there’s some pedalling involved, but uplift shuttles are also included at most locations. Importantly, every day is capped with a social gathering around food and the odd hops flavoured sports drink or two.

Bike Warrior will bring enduro format racing back to the High Country in a BIG way!

The Blue Dirt Crew are providing a COVID Guarantee.

“We also feel the ‘Blind Event’ format is important to the vibe of Bike Warrior. All trails and maps will be released a few days prior to the event helping ensure that it’s not all about the racing, cutting practice laps, and trying to shave a second or two off your time. We want it to feel like a rolling bike party with amazing riding that tests even the best riders along the way” says Aaron.

Event entry does include everything from meals, accommodation, shuttles, transfer, snacks and the sneaky cold ones at the end of the day. But there is also a DIY entry for those who like to roll that way.

The ride locations are a who’s who of mountain bike trails and elevation in Victoria. Falls Creek, Mt Beauty, Dinner Plain, Bright & Mt Buller. There’s a backcountry trail or two that literally send you off the map and no known postcode. A certain amount of fitness is required as riders will be 3-6 hours a day on the bike, but as it’s only descents that are timed the other riding will be fun, relaxed and done at a pace to suit.

There will be pedalling, and around three-to-six hours on the bike each day.

Entries are capped at 100 riders for this year’s event to ensure a high-quality experience and COVID safe environment.
