Four events – three days – one mountain – over $20,000 in cash and prizes to be won.

Thredbo is set to showcase a feast of gravity fuelled mountain biking this December with the first ever Cannonball MTB Festival rolling into the resort for three epic days of high flying adrenalin filled action and entertainment.

Taking place from the 6th – 8th December, the festival is the first of its kind in Australia. Launching only a few weeks after the official start of the Thredbo mountain biking season the event will celebrate all things mountain biking and is a must for anyone who loves the thrill of riding.

The prize pool is one of the biggest ever seen within the Australian sport. With $20,000 in cash plus amazing prizes up for grabs across the four events, it is guaranteed to attract the country’s best riders and International stars, offering big air, high speed and giant gravity.

Local rider, 2013 Oceania Champion and 2013 National Series Champ Thomas Crimmins is pumped for it, commenting; “The Cannonball festival looks insane, it’s going to be one of the biggest events we’ve ever witnessed on the Australian scene. There will be a massive turn out for the Australian Open with some international riders coming out to have a crack at the $5000 cash prize”.

“It’s great to see Thredbo MTB putting on these large scale events and contributing back to the sport. It’s about time we got an event like this in Australia; The Cannonball Festival should be the benchmark for MTB competition in the years to come”.

Expect big name riders entering this one, big bucks on the line!
