Canberra Off-Road Cyclists (CORC) is gearing up once again for the Onyabike National Solo 24 Hour Mountain Bike Championships which will be held on Easter Weekend (March 30/31) at Stromlo Forest Park in Canberra.

Unfortunately we had to move the race from Majura Pines as there are major road works in progress along Majura Road. Hopefully we will go back in a few years. Solo Champs have become an iconic event in the 24 Hour race scene in Australia, and will be a great lead up and practice for the WEMBO World Solo Championships which will be at Stromlo Forest Park on October 12 and 13th. The Easter Solo 24 Hour was the brainchild of CORC in the mid 2000’s and is the only regular solo only event on the Aussie race calendar.

If riding solo for 24 hours seems too much of a challenge then why not give the 6+6 a go, ride for 6 hours on Saturday, eat, hangout, recover and rest on Saturday night, and then head out again from 6am on Sunday morning, a great way to see what solo racing is all about and offer some words of encouragement to the guys and girls who have been riding all night. The 6+6 is also open to juniors aged 16 or older on 30 March 2013.
