After being set back with injury over seasons past and a consequential blow to his motivation, Sam Hill, he has been putting in some hard time behind the bars to get his fitness and skills back up to pace for the 2014 World Cup season.

A long time friend of the Drift Bikes crew, Sam flew over to the east coast to hang out as a part of his training with the view ride some different terrain. His week consisted of a mix of xc trail and DH riding at Glenrock, Ourimbah and on one of the wettest days of the year, Awaba where he honed in his mud riding skills.

This is a bit of footage from some runs Sam did with hometown hero, Brad Kelly hot on his heals at Ourimbah during his visit.

Brad Kelly, shifting some soil in a mighty berm.

Last weekend’s first round of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, he wound up with a very respectable 9th place. We are looking forward to seeing how his season unfolds, and wish him the best of luck.
