The Wombat 100 is back in 2013, returning to the single track of the Wombat State Forest for the fifth instalment of this premier MTB marathon.

Set on the outskirts of Woodend, the event features a world class marathon course that includes over 50% flowing single track (including the famous Wombat track), fast fire trail, pine forest single track and 4WD trails. The riding is diverse, challenging but achievable for most weekend warriors. Riders have the option to ride the full 100km or the 50km half course, there is also an 18km loop of the wombat track for kids under the age of 16 – a perfect introduction to MTB racing!

Although serious racing is at the forefront of this event, there is plenty to do for the family. Race Organiser Henry van Heerden explains: “This year we are focusing on families and would like to encourage all riders to bring along the family and enjoy the festivities at Cammeray Waters. There will be kids races around the event centre, a jumping castle and petting zoo – all set in the beautiful surrounds of this first class rural conference centre. There is accommodation onsite or better yet, why not make a camping weekend of it? There is ample room for everyone” Only 60km from central Melbourne and 40 minutes from the airport, the Wombat 100 is the place to be on the 14th April 2013.

Entries for the event will open at 9am on the 1st November. Make sure you get in early.
