Ride 35 Getaway | Enter to Win a Gravel Adventure in Tairawhiti, NZ

Pedalling the Waipoua Stop Banks Trail, descending 20km on the lush Pakihi Track, sipping coffee and eating homemade macadamia ice cream on a local farm, rolling past infamous Waihau Bay and tracing the coastline to the Te Araroa East Cape Lighthouse — the first place on Earth to see the sun each day.

Sound like your kind of adventure? We’re giving one lucky rider the chance to experience all this and more with our Ride 35 Tairāwhiti Gisborne Getaway Giveaway!

All-around legend and friend of Flow, Mitch Docker, recently took on this wild ride, loosely tracing New Zealand’s Highway 35. Over five-and-a-half days, this all-terrain gravel epic led him through some of the most remote, raw, and downright spectacular corners of the North Island’s East Coast.

Where else can you ride along the ocean to a remote lighthouse, which is the first place the sun touches every day?

Now, we’ve teamed up with Tairāwhiti Gisborne Tourism to give you the chance to follow in Mitch’s tyre tracks. Fly in, stash your bike bag at the airport, and roll straight into some of the best gravel riding Aotearoa has to offer.

There is so much diversity in the terrain and scenery along this route. The distances each day are achievable, and you only have to rough it if you want to.
