Overlooking the spectacular Twofold Bay, Gravity Eden is one of the most hotly anticipated new riding destinations in the country, and it’s now ready for riders.
With 58km of trails and over 300m of elevation to work with, Eden is the first start-to-finish destination constructed by Contour Works — and boy-howdy did those crazy cats from Carins deliver.
The network is divided into three zones: Gravity, Flow and Adventure.
Starting at the top of the hill, the Gravity Zone offers the biggest, baddest trails in the network that descend all the way back to the trailhead. There’s sizable slabby rock features, rough and raw riding and jumps on trails like Old Tom and Prana.
The Flow Zone, as the name suggests, offers flowy descents with surfy berms that will slingshot you through the corner like an F1 car navigating the Parabolica. A trail called Straight Six in this zone is the one that we still can’t stop raving about.
The Adventure Zone is mostly concentrated around the trailhead, with mellow, family-friendly singletrack touring lush rainforest. The temps are a bit cooler down here, and it’s designed to slow you down so you can look around and enjoy your surroundings.
Even the trailhead at Gravity Eden is epic. When you pull up in the parking lot, the big, beautiful jump line will be calling your name. Each jump has three line options to help you build confidence and skills safely at your own pace.
Contour Works opted to build timber ramps for the larger jumps so that the lips would stay consistent without constant maintenance.
Then there is the pump track. This thing is a sight to behold, and it looks even better at night under the lights. Yep that’s right, you can squeeze in a few laps after dinner and keep the kids away from their screens.
Eden was already an established tourism destination before the trail network, with the population growing nearly 7x during the busy season. With that, there are plenty of beds, restaurants, off-the-bike attractions and places to pick up essentials in town.
