The YT Jeffsy is updated for 2024 with a new frame that features changes to the geometry and suspension kinematics.

An overview of the 2024 YT Jeffsy

The YT Jeffsy sits in between the Izzo (the 130mm travel lightweight trail bike), and the Capra (the 170mm travel enduro bike). Splitting the difference, the Jeffsy aims to be a versatile all-rounder. It’s equipped with a 150mm travel fork, 145mm of rear travel and 29in wheels, putting it into direct competition with fellow All Mountain bikes such as the Trek Fuel EX, Focus JAM and Specialized Stumpjumper EVO.

For 2024 the Jeffsy has received an all-new frame that’s available in carbon and alloy variants. Both utilise an updated V4L suspension design that boasts improved pedalling performance and big-hit support compared to the previous model.

The chainstays are 5mm longer than the previous model and are generously wrapped with armour to quieten down chain noise.

The big news with the carbon frame is the arrival of the integrated STASH downtube storage. Unlike Trek and Specialized, YT has positioned the entry hatch separately to the bottle cage with the aim of minimising vibration and noise. The hatch features a double-sealed lip to prevent water ingress into the frame, and a soft neoprene pouch is included for housing tools and spares.

The Jeffsy frame also features bolt-on downtube protection, a top tube accessory mount, and clearance under the shock to fit YT’s own 620ml Thirstmaster bottle and side-entry cage.

Geometry & sizing

The geometry has also received a massage on the 2024 YT Jeffsy, with the head angle slackening out by a full degree to 65°. It also features size-specific seat angles, that get steeper as you go up the size range in order to prevent taller riders from feeling like they’re right over the back wheel.

As with the previous model, the new Jeffsy features a two-position flip chip in the lower shock mount. Flipping this into the High position will lift the BB height by 8mm and steepen the angles by 0.6°.

Compared to the old frame the reach is 5mm longer, and so too are the chainstays. Combined with the slacker head angle, the overall wheelbase has grown by quite a bit. On a Large frame size for example, the wheelbase is 20mm longer on the new Jeffsy.
